Mrs. Risman Rachel, a professional teacher, suffered from hearing loss due to Otosclerosis (calcification of the bones in the middle ear). She underwent surgery by an experienced senior surgeon who performed stapedectomy (replacement of the stapes bone by prosthesis). The prosthesis was larger and as a result (she was told by few consultants) it could not be replaced by a prosthesis of any size. She could not hear and suffered from severe tinnitus for 5 years.
